Ben Senterfit is a journeyman musician, voice coach and multi-instrumentalist with over 30 years of experience as a performer and educator. He is the owner and musical director at Community Music Space in Red Hook and Kingston, NY, where he teaches voice, saxophone, guitar, and recording arts. As a vocal coach, Ben has worked with everyone from Grammy award-winning artists to first-time singers and preschool children. He brings the same passion for teaching to each student, regardless of their experience level. Ben’s fundamental teaching philosophy us that singing is a practice of self-discovery and that each voice lesson is an opportunity for a student to discover their unique sound, and to carry it out into the world.
In addition to his teaching, Ben Senterfit has established a prolific career as a studio producer from the 1990s to the present, working with a diverse array of artists. His production portfolio includes notable collaborations with the Acid Jazz ensemble United Dope Front, singer-songwriter Miles Taylour, and the versatile Paul Rivers Bailey. Ben brings a distinct blend of technical skill and creative insight to each project and his expertise in the studio has been instrumental in shaping the sounds of these artists.
