Membership Tuition

  • Billing: Tuition is a flat monthly fee, based on lesson length. Most months have 4-5 lessons, with occasional 3-lesson months due to holidays.

  • Payment: First payment is due upon purchase. Subsequent payments are billed automatically on the first of each month to VISA or Mastercard (“Auto-pay”).

  • Late Fees: Payments after the 15th (non-auto-pay members) incur a $25 late fee. A $25 fee applies for returned checks.

Lesson Cancellation

  • Scheduling: Cancellations/rescheduling must be made through your teacher, the studio, or our automated system (phone, text, email, or online).

  • No-Show Policy: No credits or refunds for student no-shows.

  • Teacher Cancellations: If a teacher cancels, we will attempt to provide a substitute; if unavailable, a lesson credit will be issued.

  • Student Cancellations: Missed lessons receive a personalized make-up lesson in LessonMate, provided during the normal lesson time.

  • Credits: Faculty cancellations result in a lesson credit. After accumulating 4 credits, the following month’s payment will be credited. Credits can be used to book make-up lessons and expire 60 days after membership ends. Make-up lessons cannot be rescheduled.

Membership Cancellation

  • Cancellation Policy: You may cancel at any time. Memberships canceled after payment processing will remain active until the end of the month.

  • Credits/Refunds: We do not offer cash refunds—only credits, which are transferable to other lessons or family members.

  • CMS Rights: Community Music Space may terminate memberships at any time, with prorated refunds for remaining lessons.

Lesson Packs

  • Booking: Lesson Packs must be booked individually; for recurring weekly lessons, a membership is required.

  • Purchases: Lesson Packs must be purchased internally via CMS administration. New packages must be purchased once a pack is fulfilled.

  • Transfer Policy: Lesson Packs are transferable to other lessons of equal value, teachers, or family members.

  • Refunds: No refunds are offered for Lesson Packs, but balances can be applied as account credit.

  • Cancellation: A 24-hour cancellation policy applies to Lesson Packs (refer to Lesson Cancellation).

Substitutions

  • Teacher Unavailability: If your teacher is unavailable, we will try to provide a substitute. If none is available, a credit will be issued.

  • Rescheduling: Lesson credits apply only to teacher cancellations. Students will receive a LessonMate make-up for lessons they miss. The same cancellation policies apply to substitute teachers.

  • Long-term Absences: If your teacher cannot continue weekly lessons, we will assist in finding a new teacher.

Summer (July & August)

  • Membership Hold: You may put your membership on hold for up to two months with prior notice. Your lesson time will be reserved by pre-paying for the returning month. While on hold, individual lessons or lesson packs may still be purchased.

Injuries

  • Liability: By participating in musical activities at Community Music Space, you assume all risks of injury and agree to release, indemnify, and hold harmless CMS and its staff from any liability, claims, or expenses related to injury.

Photo/Video Release

  • Consent: Unless otherwise requested in writing, Community Music Space has permission to take and use photographs/videos of students for promotional materials and copyright them in its name.
